Wstęp do bloga

Zapraszam do czytania mojego bloga o ptakach. Jest to jeden z elementów nowego projektu Erasmus+ "(Y)our Europe, (Y)our Nature, (Y)our Home. Blog pisany będzie przez uczniów klasy ósmej Szkoły Podstawowej nr 157 w Warszawie.

No other wild animals are found in our surroundings as numerous and as diverse as birds. Our relationship with birds is different from our relationships with other wild animals. The bird's mind seems to be the closest to ours. Birds enchant us with unearthly singing what's interesting, we owe the most beautiful sounds of nature to birds. Birds occur practically everywhere: in the Arctic and Antarctic, in the tropical forests and in the desert, in concrete mazes of world metropolises and in home gardens.
They are a symbol of nature; they bring energy to our lives. A legend says that the birds appeared on Earth when a rainbow exploded and its fragments fluttered worldwide. That's how multicoloured hummingbirds, parrots, red-black-and-white black woodpeckers, and bright red cardinals were created.
We are enchanted by birds; they penetrate every area of human life. In our project, we want to understand the birds and the world around us better. We want to enrich our knowledge and underline our deep relationship with nature. We want to create a cross-curricular science project and use such subjects as geography, biology, physics, maths, art, history, literature and English for our research work.  We want to introduce innovative ICT applications to practise our multimedia skills. We would like to adjust our project to different students' age and abilities.
During the project, we will analyze the air currents and birds' flight speeds. We will get to know the places of nesting and bird migration routes. We will look at the historical sources for the origin of our national symbols. We will study birds in sociology and mythology.
Our project is to contribute to changing our way of perceiving nature. We have to understand that we are a part of nature We shouldn’t regard ourselves as the most dominant one and everything was created to serve us. We want to pay attention to climate change and emphasize that nature is a fragile instrument that we have to look after with great care.

We hope that our natural passion will be contagious. Our admiration for wonderful nature will become a cause for creating a new shape of relations between birds, wildlife, the Earth and ourselves. We will be even more sensitive Europeans.
